Garden Cities
Overview
The concept of Garden Cities was first developed by Ebenezer Howard, from the United Kingdom, in the early 20th century, in the book Garden Cities of To-Morrow. He advocated the creation of self-contained new towns of limited population and size, planned in advance, surrounded by a large, permanent belt of green space or agricultural land. His ideas influenced the creation of British new towns after World War II.
